Alchemia Released!

alchemia-gameAfter many months of work, our new game – Alchemia – has been released! And it’s completely free!

One summer night in a deep forest, strange events bring little hero and his misfortunate companion to underground caves and dungeons.  They discover a city hidden in the dark, with it’s white stone houses, long bridges, strange mechanic creatures and people skilled in ancient alchemic techniques. However, the way back is closed and there seems to be no other way out. Is the little hero able to help his new friend? Will they escape dark tunnels?

Alchemia is a classical point&click adventure game, but also has some innovations. Many puzzles cannot be solved simply by clicking the objects in right order or in specific time, but you will have to use your brain a bit more and really understand the mechanics of the game. We hope this will draw players  more into the game. However, in case of problems, there is a walkthrough available in each level. You can also load any level anytime by typing the level name into “load level” field. We have also added  one small but important feature – levels in the game are being loaded while playing, which saves quite a lot of time.

We have decided to add dialogues (in form of text boxes) to the game in order to better explain the story. It is not necessary to read them because they won’t help you to solve the puzzles, but sometimes they might help for example to describe items that are going to be picked up.

There is also a small inventory in some levels, but it never contains more than one item.

Alchemia has it’s own original soundtrack created by Julian Winter. I think the music fits the game perfectly. The instruments are non-electronic, there is mainly an acoustic guitar and there is also plenty of sounds recorded by Julian – falling stones, dripping water, night birds, cave echoes etc.

We plan to create an extended version soon, containing four or five additional levels. But it all depends on how people will like the game, so please feel free to give us some feedback.

We really put a lot of effort into making of Alchemia and we hope you will enjoy playing it at least as much as we enjoyed creating it.

  3. Kate says:

Absolutely superb! The most gorgeous graphics I’ve ever seen in a game! I do agree with some of the others that the dialogue is really not that necessary, but it’s a minor point. Am really looking forward to the extended version. A longer game from you guys would make my day! Thanks sooo much and keep it comin’!

Absolutely brilliant and soooo reminiscent of ‘The Point’ or ‘Yellow Submarine’. The graphics are so detailed I found myself just looking instead of getting on with it.
No probs about a small fee / donation for the cost of creating such a game.
Keep up the excellent work, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Now I’m going to play the other two (probably should have done that first !!!)

Alchemia is a short but excellent game. The puzzles and the story line were very original. I would strongly encourage you to continue with your extended version and I would definitely be a buyer.

    Thank you.

  15. Arno says:

Well done, great game, wonderful graphics…!

  16. Debbie says:

Would love to see an extended version. I would suggest that as you get further along, the puzzles increase in their difficulty. I love these games as so does my daughter. I would love nothing better than a version that you would come back to over a few or even several days in order to complete the tasks. This has a kind of samerost-ish feeling to me. I consider that a very good thing. Nice graphics, relaxing sounds and music helps to relax and stimulate in a positive manner. Great work and if it were possible, a couple of different endings dependent upon which road you choose. If I new that it would take me some time to complete I would not be adverse to a $10 price. Keep up the good work! thank you

  27. Paul says:

Thank you for all the hard work and imagination you put into this game. It is alot like Machinarium. Please make an extended version. There are some grammar mistakes in the English version- if the game was completely wordless like Machinarium, you would not have to worry about it, though. I for one would pay 5-7 (U.S.) dollars for an extended version.

  28. Mori says:

    I love it :)
Nice graphics, nice sound, neither too difficult, nor to easy puzzles. Great work. A little piece of art :)

  29. Jimmy says:

  34. Lotte says:

Once again, a great game. Hopefully, a lot of these games will follow. I’m hooked!

  35. Michael says:

It’s just a rip off of the style of Amanita Design.

  36. Cee says:

Yes, it is a beautifully made game, but I can’t help thinking that it is a bit of a Amanita Design ripoff ( – I have to agree with you, Michael…)

    Still, well done nevertheless.

  37. Alecs Prodan says:

I loved the artstyle (I just finished ‘Machinarium’) You should go for a full game, crazy ideas and great style like this one. I’m off to see Haluz and Haluz 2. Who cares if it’s a ripoff or not? The only thing I didn’t like much is the character itself, the human. Everything else is great. the dogs are great, and the idea with that animal in the clock you have to steam to make it use its hands is brilliant. I think I’ll stick the immage of the flying spirit on my University folder. Yes, sir!

  38. kiefer says:

I’d really like to play the game after seeing so many awesome reviews of it but everytime after i get past the intro all i see is a black screen. why is this happening? or is it just me? =(

  39. imppao says:

  41. Breonn says:

You can definitely tell how much work went into this. The eye candy is beautiful, the sounds were cute (the dog barking riled my dog and sent her running to the doors and windows lol), the guitar was peaceful to listen to. Very nicely done, it was a lot of fun to play.

  42. sally says:

    aweful. so beautiful and warm.

  43. Silver surfer says:

Lovely game beautifully made! I would pay to download a longer version with alternative routes through the virtual world.
